摘要
IN 1990, steelmaking section of scientific-technical council of USSR Metallurgy Ministry has established that during last years, the iron consumption has significantly decreased under production of steel in oxygen converters. Supply of steelmaking shops with scrap and qualitative lime has deteriorated. Attention has been paid to decrease of material and energy consumptions in open-hearth steelmaking. To improve furnace operation effectiveness, the use of roof gas-oxygen burners of high power is recommended. Experience of straight-line tandem furnaces operations at metallurgical works is positive. Replacement of open hearth furnaces by these furnaces is expedient. To decrease deoxidizers and alloying elements consumptions, the use of trimming of furnace slag and inlet of powder wire into the ladle are recommended. Under rational steelmaking structure, the shares of electric steel of from 17.3 to 45-50 percent have been recommended.
