Dynamic behaviour of orthotropic rectangular plate under action of suddenly applied load

The theory of orthotropic plates with regard for transversal normal and shear stresses is considered. Independent approximations of shears and stresses distribution in the plate thickness are taken. The Reissner variation principle for dynamic process is used to derive the equations of motion. The forced vibrations are analyzed for the case of the square orthotropic plate affected by suddenly applied load. The problem is solved by numerical method based on difference approximation of the initial variation equation. Calculated results are compared with analogous results within the frameworks of applied theories of plates.
