Investment casting has recently found a number of fresh applications, including land-turbine blading, orthodpedic implants, electronic housing and many quite prosaic commercial components. This article describes a well-established investment-casting company, the U. K. 's P. I. Castings (Altrincham) Ltd. , which is geared to the production of components for many of these developing markets.
