摘要
Wave scattering by a vertical rigid thin barrier has been theoretically studied using the finite element method. Wave transmission decreases with increasing submergence of the barrier and an increasing depth to wave length ratio. Variations of the magnitudes and phase angles of the horizontal wave force and moment are presented in graphical form. Maximum wave force is proportional to the wave amplitude and submergence whereas the maximum moment is proportional to the submergence squared.
