摘要
Intramyocardial ethanol (EtOH) injections were employed to obtain an acute state of heart failure. Two administration protocols were tested: multiple bolus administration or continuous infusion by use of an infusion pump. Ten mongrel dogs, anesthesized with fentanyl and midazolam and mechanically ventilated were employed. After media sternotomy, AV block was induced by AV node ablation and the heart paced at 100 bpm. Aortic blood flow (AF), mean arterial pressure (MAP), pulmonary wedge pressure (Pw) and left and right atrium pressures (LAP, RAP) were monitored. The results indicate that intramyocardial EtOH injection using an infusion pump will decrease acutely the contractile capacity of the heart in a fast and reproducible manner.
