摘要
In commercial production, the dies only need heating at the start of operations; thereafter, pouring keeps them at the required temperature. Assembled molds poured initially at die temperatures of 110 and 60 degree C respectively took different times to attain a limiting value of 190-200 degree C. The die surfaces invariably retain a layer of unburnt shell after opening and removing the castings, while the sand in the blowing orifices remains completely unaffected by heat and must be removed particularly carefully.
