A function of uniform motion, namely a biunivocal link between the motive slope J and the mean velocity V must be furnished, with actual values, in computer-aided calculation of piping systems. The explicitness of such a link through Colebrook formula, that is adopted does not apply around O. In this case a connection V equals F (J) is then proposed. The paper sets forth the reasons that have led to this function of uniform motion. Specifically, the advantages in the case of adoption of the Newton-Raphson process for the numerical inversion which is usually required are pointed out.
