摘要
Ceram, a materials testing, analysis and consultancy organization, explores a number of key aspects that make up the finite element design process and the data that is required for modeling. Assumptions are made on the basis of the application regarding the behavior of the refractory structure during service. Information, such as the design drawings are required to establish the interaction between walls and roofs and ports and walls. The operating process criteria of the vessel or component needs to be considered, such as the operating temperatures in different areas, maximum against normal operating conditions and changes in temperature profiles. Creation of the geometry of the model involves things such as simplifying by symmetry mesh size determination, the design of individual bricks and mortar or their combined effect. The last aspect to a form part of the modeling is the verification of the modeling results and the validity of the model needs to be checked by running the results past experienced refractory specialists.
