摘要
Activator ion Ce3+, target nuclide lithium-6 and boron-10 are selected to produce glass scintillator respectively that can be used for thermal neutron detection, and its light-emitting property and some nuclear physics performance are also systematically studied. The study shows that lithium-6 glass scintillator activated by Ce3+ is a kind of glass matrix material for detection of the thermal neutron excellence, with a longer emission wavelength (390 nm), a shorter lifetime (46.9 ns) and good γ-ray screening performance and temperature effect. Both of the nuclear target nuclide and activator ion in the lithium -6 glass scintillator have a maximum allowable concentration, higher than which can produce varying degrees of concentration quenching effect.
