Computation of static voltage stability margin with multiple pilot buses in a control partition

An optimal power flow model for the computation of static voltage stability margin, in which the effect of coordinated secondary voltage control (CSVC) is considered, is proposed to mainly focus on solving problem that there are multiple pilot buses in control partitions. The reactive power output factor is led into the proposed model to prompt the reactive output of generators to be the maximum, and multi complementary constraint equations are led in to make the voltages at all pilot buses in the control partition closed to setting value. The proposed model is solved by prime-dual interior point method, and during the solution the sparse technology is utilized to accelerate the calculation. Computation results of static voltage stability margin by IEEE 39-bus system show that the control partition containing multiple pilot buses can improve the static voltage stability of power system and voltage level of power system before the voltage collapse.
