The specific weight; or weight/power ratio; is a very important factor for a fuel-cell-powered helicopters. The objective of determining the specific weight is to analyze whether or not fuel cells are appropriate for the power electric helicopters. The helicopter specific-weight is obtained by the measurement of the variables including helicopter current; voltage; and lifting force. Current and voltage are required for the derivation of the electrical power consumption; and the lifting force is required to know the maximum weight of the required fuel cell. Analysis of the three recorded input variables such as voltage; current; and lifting force is performed by a computer algorithm under different conditions including payload and safety. The analysis demonstrates that the lower fuel-cell specific weights are safer as they have the higher probability of lifting the helicopter as well as heavy payloads successfully;
