摘要
One of the keys to performing predictions of swirling turbulent combustion flows lies in the proper description of the turbulence-reaction interactions. The algebraic concentration moment-probability density function (PDF) model describing the turbulence-reaction interactions is used here in numerical simulations of turbulent combustion in a swirl combustor. The predictions provide the distributions of the time-averaged turbulent reaction rate, the root mean square of the fluctuating temperature, the second-order moment of the fluctuating fuel and oxygen concentrations, the second-order moment of the fluctuating fuel concentration, and the second-order moment of the fluctuating oxygen concentration in the combustor. The results indicate that the distributions of the second-order moments of the fluctuating concentrations and the root mean square of the fluctuating temperature are well correlated to the distribution of the time-averaged turbulent reaction rate.
