Study of accelerating ray-casting algorithm based on space leaping

摘要
The principle of Ray-casting algorithm is simple and easy to realize. But the speed of rendering is very slow. The rendering speed was accelerated and the space and run-time complexity was depressed. The ray coherence during ray casting was exploited by using the distance a ray traverses in empty space to leap its neighboring rays. This algorithm does not require any pre-processing and 3D data structures, and is independent of the transfer function. Being an image-space technique, it is independent of the complexity of the data being rendered. It can accelerate the rendering speed.
