摘要
Frank Lloyd, Associate Dean, Executive Education, SMU Cox School of Business, shares his views on a dual perspective on the changing leadership demands of oil and gas. He states that oil and gas executives are aware of the evolving challenges of the industry and their leadership implications. Some of these implications include intensifying globalization, business complexity, multicultural and multigenerational workforce, and expanded risk. These complex industry challenges require success-oriented firms to develop leaders who can lead innovation and change, make critical decisions quickly that align with overall strategy, achieve operational efficiency and economy, and inspire and motivate others. More progressive companies are taking more comprehensive approach to leadership development. They are directing investments in leadership talent into three new areas and emphasis is shifting from leadership competencies to organizational capabilities.
