Near-field numerical simulation of heated water jets with negative buoyant in flowing ambient

On the basis of the experiment study, the RNG k-Ε turbulence model was applied to simulate planar heated water negative buoyant jets in flowing ambient. The influence of the negative buoyancy was considered in the model. The control equation was discredited by the Hybrid Finite Analytic Method with the physical parameters arranged on a staggered grid. The discretized equations were solved by SIMPLEC method. The computed results showed that the flow velocity field and temperature field were in agreement with the experimental data. The model and the presented method can be used to simulate the behavior of the flow.
