Kinetics of hydrothermal reaction for preparation of Ca-based absorbent from fly ash and Ca (OH)2

A kinetic model was deduced about hydrothermal reaction for preparation of Ca-based absorbent from Ca (OH)2 and fly ash by acid dissolution method. The kinetic parameters, reaction order, and apparent reaction rate constant were obtained. The effects of NaOH and CaSO4&middot2H2O on reaction were investigated. Furth more, the technological parameters were optimized. The results show that higher hydration temperature, longer hydration time and using activator improve the conversion of fly ash and Ca-based absorbent prepared on better reaction conditions has 113.168 m2/g specific area, which was 9.5 times higher than that of Ca (OH)2.
