Based on the bond-beam structure mechanical model, the relationship between hydraulic support and surrounding rock coupling was studied by theoretical analysis method. The roof strata load in hydraulic support was classified. Stiffness coupling, strength coupling and stability coupling in hydraulic support and surrounding rock coupling relationship were proposed, which was applied in Suancigou Mine to analyze the hydraulic support failure. Dynamic load is composed of roof weight and rotary space. The whole stiffness of immediate roof, hydraulic support and baseboard can influence the location of roof break. Reasonable supporting intensity can reduce the deflection and settling velocity. The influence of dynamic load impact to hydraulic support was reduced. The supporting intensity can influence the baseboard and coal wall. The stability of hydraulic support and adaptation to surrounding rock is the key to the hydraulic support system and surrounding rock stability. ©, 2015, China Coal Society. All right reserved.
