In this paper, a model of a forced flow in a cylindrical channel is presented. The fluid is heated by a power heating placed below a fan which creates the fluid flow. To study the dynamic behavior of the outlet fluid temperature, this system is described by a differential equation with partial derivatives whose parameters are identified. The modelling of this system by a reduced order model with a pure delay is provided. Model's parameters are determined by the least square method and by genetic algorithms. It is shown that the second order model with a delay yields the best performances.
