摘要
The present study concentrates on the experiment of reflectance based digital imaging and analysis of micro levels physical characters of some late Holocene sediment depositions sampled from Rudrasagar Lake, Tripura (within 1m depth). For optical micrography and imaging total six thick sections were prepared from the collected samples in the sedimentology laboratory and micro-photography was done under fixed reflected light. Considering the recent important role of digital technology in analysing the physicocheminal and mineralogical compositions of the sediment depositions, digital operation was attempted in this study on the micro-images. Identification of reflectivity of the minerals was done by visualising method like brightness-contrast testing. In this study the present authors discuss the variations of physical characteristics especially geometric forms of lake depositions of recent geological past. Image analysis at micro order were done by multiprocessing techniques with several sophisticated image processing software for identifying the change of depositional environment during recent geological past in the present study area. © 2010 CAFET-INNOVA TECHNICAL SOCIETY.
