Research into switched Ethernet real-time communication for industrial field

摘要
By means of network calculus, switched Ethernet based on FCFS and IEEE802.1P is analyzed in real-time behavior. The request and characteristic of industrial Ethernet for process control and motion control in real-time are explained. Since jitter is not strict target for process control field, the requirement in real-time is less rigorous than that of discrete control. The real-time Ethernet for process control may be build based on new technology of switched Ethernet with developing traditional network technology.
