In this study, to further improve the performance of the adhesive anchors, pullout tests were conducted on adhesive anchors with different combinations of adhesive and borehole diameter to determine the maximum load along with the fracture type of the adhesive anchors. The load capacity calculated by AIJ’s current design guidelines was compared with the experimental fracture load. The results show that the maximum load of adhesive anchors fixed in large-hole with three types of adhesives are higher than the ones fixed in conventional-size-hole regardless of the fracture mode. AIJ’s current design criteria provide lower limits of fracture loads for them. © 2024 Architectural Institute of Japan. All rights reserved.
