摘要
To reduce the long preprocessing and updating time of current hierarchical levels of detail (HLOD) algorithms for large, dynamic process plants, a new HLOD algorithm based on the entity of the dynamic process plant models is proposed. The plant is represented by a scene graph based on the grouping and partitioning of the entities. The HLOD of each entity is computed conforming to its geometry parameters and shape feature. The pipe and its adjoining components are combined into a joint entity. Our algorithm can be implemented on a desktop PC and achieves up to about 3 times acceleration when rendering large scale dynamic process plant models composed of tens of millions triangles with little loss in image quality. It reduces the whole preprocessing time for HLOD computation to 7 minutes.
