摘要
In addition to increasing globalization and demographic change, another challenge of the European economy is the efficient use of resources (equipment, raw materials, energy). The suggested 4-phase model helps to increase systematically the resource efficiency of the production system. Specially designed instruments help to identify losses within the system. A software-based application supports this approach, and the use is illustrated by a complex production system of the non-ferrous industry. © 2014, Springer-Verlag Wien.
