Myllykoski sold to UPM

An interview with Carl G. Bjornberg, the former Chairman of the Board of Myllykoski Corporation, is presented. Carl stated that the paper industry is recovering but it will take long time before it reaches pre-recession time. When asked about new paper machines in Europe or the US, he stated that many new paper machines will be built in the Western world in the foreseeable future. Paper producers will run their existing lines and even shut down some of them. Paper production will increase in China and India and in new emerging nations. When asked about the company's failures and mistakes, he stated that he regret building plattling. He stated that it is difficult to know where Myllykoski's name will stand in the future. There is a time for everything, and the future will be what it will be. Myllykoski was certainly an excellent brand, but he is undecided whether it will be necessary in the future.
