摘要
Among numerous emerging technologies in the process industries, the digital twin is the most powerful and disruptive. Why? The reason is because it constitutes a rich way to look at the past, present and future of an asset. The digital twin is a new way of describing certain characteristics of technologies, some of which are not new, but for which there are many exciting new innovations. As a result, the concept is rapidly evolving—as are perceptions—and, understandably, there are many sceptics.
