摘要
A new hybrid compressed-air and fuel engine concept is proposed, which can work by both compressed-air powered engine mode and internal combustion engine mode. The new hybrid engine can fully display the characteristics of high torque and zero emission when powered by the compressed-air at the low speed, and it can work near the optimum state of low energy consumption and low emissions by the internal combustion mode. The new hybrid engine is modeled using the thermodynamic theory, and the simulation analysis is made in the pressure and temperature in cylinder, in the output torque, in the mean indicated pressure and other performance parameters. The simulation results show that the indicated mean pressure and other important performance parameters are approximate to those of the traditional internal combustion engine. Results show the feasibility of the new hybrid compressed-air and fuel engine concept in achieving fuel economy and emission reduction.
