Research on interference check and avoidance in five-axis NC machining

摘要
This paper presented a method to solve the problems about five-axis NC machining interference, in which the intersections between the machining cutter movement envelope surface and the CAD model surface were calculated to realize the judgment and check of the interference in the movement of cutter, and then generated interference-free cutter path. Because of considering the position relation about the cutter and the workpiece of the whole cutter location points, the method can realize the interference check and avoidance on the whole movement path, and can avoid the damage of the requested surface, so as to improve the machining quality. The calculation example shows that the method is practical and useful.
