摘要
Lithium rich layered oxides (LRLOs) are widely regarded as one of the most promising cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries due to their high energy density and low cost. Many countries worldwide have been deeply engaged in LRLO research for years, resulting in numerous significant patent applications. This paper utilized the PatSnap global patent information database to search for publicly available LRLO-related patents on a global scale, systematically organizing and analyzing 1647 patents based on their application status, geographical distribution, applicants and inventors, technology types, and more. The findings suggest that LRLOs are experiencing rapid development with broad prospects and commercial value. The results indicate that LRLOs are in a period of rapid development and have broad development prospects and commercial value. Nevertheless, LRLOs still encounter pressing technical challenges, particularly concerning capacity and voltage attenuation issues. In order to achieve large-scale commercialization of LRLOs, it is still necessary to increase innovation efforts and continuously optimize and improve materials to address the main problems faced by LRLOs. This paper holds significant reference value for guiding future research and industrial positioning related to LRLOs. © 2024 Central South University of Technology. All rights reserved.
