摘要
The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud technology has made smart homes possible. However, the end-to-end mechanism employed by IoT and remote cloud access is expensive and time-consuming in controlling and monitoring multiple smart appliances. To address this issue, we propose an IoT-based smart home control (SHC) and monitoring framework, and the novelties of the framework are twofold. On the one hand, the naming mechanism is leveraged to control multiple appliances via one command delivery process. On the other hand, the edge cloud is exploited to conduct the host tracking mechanism and naming mechanism so as to locally monitor multiple appliances via one data delivery procedure. The proposed framework is evaluated to demonstrate its strengths.
