Elastic BN aerogel for efficient adsorption of tetracycline

摘要
The extensive use of tetracycline (TC) has caused severe pollution and posing a grave threat to human health and ecosystems. In this study, three-dimensional hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN) aerogels with extraordinary elasticity were self-assembly by altering the volume ratio of tert-butanol to water for the removal of TC. BN aerogels are predominantly mesoporous, and the abundant mesopores increase the specific surface area of the aerogels (440.46 m(2)/g) which enhance the adsorption capacity of TC, furthermore, the aerogels have good cycling adsorption performance, and after 5 cycles, the aerogels can still maintain the high removal rate of TC (99.93 %). Moreover, under mechanical stress, the interconnected pores formed by the interweaving of fibers can promote stress dissipation and effectively counteract external stress, making BN aerogel elastic, which allows the aerogel to maintain its structural integrity during actual use. Overall, the BN aerogel adsorbent has great application potential and theoretical guidance for TC purification.
