摘要
In order to study the fuel-rich combustion characteristics of kerosene, a fuel-rich GOx/kerosene gas generator was designed and combustion tests were conducted, covering the chamber pressure range of 1~4MPa, and the mixture ratio range of 0.25 ~ 0.52. The effects of mixture ratio and chamber pressure on characteristic velocity, gas temperature and combustion efficiency were obtained. The results show that, the fuel-rich gas generator can be ignited reliably with a spark igniter. The measured characteristic velocity and gas temperature are significantly lower than the chemical equilibrium predictions, and the combustion efficiency varied from 63.9% to 88.3%. It can be concluded that the mixture ratio is the main factor influencing characteristic velocity, gas temperature and combustion efficiency, while the chamber pressure has much less impacts on them. The combustion efficiency is proportional to the square root of the ratio of the measured and predicted gas temperature. © 2016, Editorial Department of Journal of Propulsion Technology.
