摘要
With the gradual popularization and development of the lightweight structure concept, polymers and their fiber-reinforced materials are being applied in aviation structures. Polymers and their fiber-reinforced materials have excellent properties such as low density, high specific strength, good corrosion resistance and heat resistance, etc. The adoption of a metal/polymer composite structure can not only improve the overall performance of the structure, but also save costs and reduce weight. This paper firstly discusses the background of metal/polymer joining technologies, and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of adhesive bonding, mechanical fastening, laser welding, and other joining technologies, which are widely used and mature technologies. Current metal/polymer friction-based joining technologies, including friction stir welding, friction stir spot welding, friction riveting, friction injection riveting, and friction self-riveting welding, are highlighted and their applications in metal/polymer structure are discussed. The joining mechanisms and the future research directions are also summarized. © 2022, Beihang University Aerospace Knowledge Press. All right reserved.
