Nowadays energy and environmental issues are the major social problems many countries in the world are facing. Building energy saving is an important way to solve the energy problems. This article takes a typical energy-saving residence in Harbin city for example. It makes an analytical study on the building's heating energy consumption using energy consumption simulation software-EnergyPlus. This article gives the effect of different insulation thickness and layer numbers of window glass on heating energy consumption index, and it modifies the computational results of EnergyPlus simulation software by the comparison between energy consumption practical testing and simulation in project. © 2013 IFSA.
