Macpherson sees firmer PRN prices

Growth prospects of recycling and recovery of waste packaging market is discussed. The packaging recovery note (PRN) prices are expected to remain evenly balanced in the current compliance year. The demand is likely to outgrow supply by autumn with a sharp upturn in December 2001 and January 2002. The revenues of £250 million generated by Government's Waste Packaging Regulations for the recycling sector is expected to escalate further in the view of increased recycling targets.
