摘要
John Hockenberry has talked about his experience of network television at Dateline NBC and how the technological advancement has changed the means of communication as well as entertainment from new on TV to blogs on Internet. He has explained about how news had lost most basic journalistic instincts in its search for the audience driven emotional center of the American people. He described how people at Dateline NBC has explored the ways Internet might create new opportunities for storytelling, new audiences, and exciting new mechanisms for the creation of journalism. Networks are built on the assumption that audience size is what matters most but not the concerned content to attract passive viewers. The technological insurgency can redefine news wrapped up in language itself in an attempt to commodify it and is a freeing communication.
