摘要
The dispersion effect of carbonate on flotation system of serpentine and pyrite and its mechanism were investigated through flotation experiments, sedimentation tests, FTIR and calculations of solution chemistry. The results show that the hetero-aggregation between serpentine and pyrite results in the attachment of serpentine slimes to pyrite surface and changes the surface characteristics of pyrite, thus the flotation recovery of pyrite decreases. Addition of various reagents which can produce carbonate is found to improve pyrite recovery during flotation. Carbonate mainly exists in the form of CO32- ions in pH range that carbonate can restore pyrite flotation recovery. When the reagent producing the carbonate ion is able to provide it at a higher concentration, the pyrite flotation performance is improved.CO32- adjusts the surface potential of serpentine through adsorption on serpentine surface and then disperses serpentine and pyrite. © 2016, Central South University of Technology.
