摘要
The possibilities of computerized tomography of temporal bones for selecting patients with sensorineural deafness for cochlear implantation are studied. Computerized tomography of temporal bones was made in 40 patients aged 1 to 57 years. Different malformations of the inner ear and the inner auditory canal as well as meningititis-induced cochlear obliteration and posttraumatic temporal bone changes were detected by means of computerized tomography. This allows to avoid potential difficulties and complications at cochlear implantation.
