Lead & Zinc Mine Costs 1997-2007

After months of negative market sentiment and increasing pain, the world's zinc and lead producers have stared down the lowest real-terms zinc prices since the Great Depression. Three main factors contributed to this cost reduction: some higher-cost lead-zinc mines were closed or suspended, major new low-cost mines ramped up to full capacity and third factor is fall in concentrate treatment charges (TCs).
