Recently, SAFC Hitech has opened a $9M worth of cleanroom facility in Sheboygan, Wisconsin campus in the US. The Sheboygan site was selected because it provides large-scale manufacturing of products for the material science industry, as well as offers fresh, clean air, and a plentiful supply of clean water. The 5,000ft2 facility is consisted of an ISO Class 4 cleanroom, a distillation suite, and office. The latest facility provides in-house trace metals analysis and has the capability to clean and fill containers. Different types of hatches, doors, pass through and viewing windows were installed in the new facility to protect the cleanroom integrity. In order to maximize work efficiency and prevent cross-contamination, incoming and outgoing personnel follow different paths, which has bees proven to be effective in reducing cross-contamination, improving personnel safety, and optimizing cleanroom operations.
