摘要
According to the current status of PV module production, production line of solar module is equally divided into three areas, which can be designated as series or series-parallel structure by changing the connection method. Then a testing system is established for evaluating these two types of modules. The power characteristics are analyzed under various light conditions based on numerical simulation and experimental work, supposing only one cell in each area is blocked by shadow. In normal condition, there is no difference between series and series-parallel structures. If one cell has been blocked by shadow in all the three areas, the maximum power of series module is more than that of the seriesparallel module by 5%. However, if cell has been blocked by shadow only in one area, the series-parallel panel can generate more power by 9.4% in comparison to the series one. Moreover, if cell has been blocked by shadow in two of the three areas, the maximum power of series- parallel module is larger by 49.1%. It is demonstrated that series- parallel module can generate more power than traditional series one under partial shadowing.
