摘要
References from Web of Science about lithium extraction from seawater and brine were statistically analyzed and new techniques with a category of electrochemical extraction, ion sieve, ionic liquid extraction, nanofiltration+dialysis and membrane crystallization were discussed in detail. It can be found from literature that the development of lithium extraction from solutions is driven by the fast growth of nanomaterials and novel energy storage techniques. The key for industrialization of these new techniques is how to customize and optimize those processes based on different chemical compositions of local seawater/brine and also weather conditions. © 2017, Editorial Board of “Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities”.
