An introduction to access equipment

A key component of most industrial painting projects is access to the work area which usually requires some sort of access equipment. Since falls are the leading cause of injury and death in the painting industry, safe erection and use of access equipment are mandatory parts of good painting practices. To prevent falls, it is a must that scaffolds meet all applicable regulations and codes, and that workers are both trained in the use of, and supplied with, appropriate fall protection devices.
