BOC worked with container manufacturer Beatson Clark to develop a solution that improved the plant's operational flexibility and enabled the company to boost efficiency and profitability. BOC applied oxy-fuel boosting to a new furnace in an application that is unique because it is only used when additional glass is required for forming. It has enbaled an economical production increase resulting in a six-month payback on the Installation cost. It also removed production planning constraints and allowed greater flexibility in job mix and the allocation of jobs to production lines.
