摘要
Considerable attention has been paid to study the effect of sand an dust storms on the propagation of microwave/millimeter wave. The attenuation caused by dust particles is one of the major problem in utilisation of microwave and millimeter wave band for terrestrial and space communication. In the present paper a theoretical investigation has been made to study the effect of depolarization on the propagation of microwave/millimeter wave through dust constituents i.e. sand, silt and clay particles. It is found that sand particles passes higher attenuation of microwave signal than silt and clay particles in microwave terrestrial link due to depolarization.
