摘要
A low-cost, highly water-absorptive, environment-friendly sponge was prepared using konjac glucomannan as substrate through freeze-thaw-forming technique. The optimal process for the preparation of konjac glucomannan-based sponge (S-KGM) was screened by single factor experiment with the water absorption performance of the sponge as main index. The properties and structure of konjac glucomannan-based sponge were characterized by universal material testing machine, Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, thermogravimetric analyzer and scanning electron microscope. The results show that when Na2SO4 is used as pore former, the dosage is 0.8 g, the alkali concentration is 0.1 mol/L, and the swelling-crosslinking time is 20 min, the morphology of S-KGM is good, and the apparent density is 38.465 g/cm3, the water absorption rate can reach 1000%. The performance test results show that the fracture strength of S-KGM is 0.4773 MPa and the elongation at break is 40.9%. The thermal stability is better. During the preparation process, the konjac glucomannan molecules undergo deacetylation; the surface of the sponge and the interior is filled with interconnected through holes. The prepared sponge is expected to play an important role in medicine, cosmetics and sewage treatment. © 2019, Editorial Board of Polymer Materials Science & Engineering. All right reserved.
