摘要
Some basic properties, such as, being relatively simple to manufacture, simple to operate, and fast response times, of surface dielectric barrier discharge (SDBD) plasma make it desirable from aerodynamic, biomedicine and environmental protection point of view. In order to make it easy for readers to understand the characteristics and the development of the SDBD thoroughly, we review the current development and the prospects in development of the SDBD at atmospheric pressure in detail on the basis of the works of domestic and overseas scholars. The diagnosis methods of the SDBD plasma are summarized at first, then the research status of the experimental study and numerical simulation are described. Moreover, we briefly introduce the industrial applications of SDBD plasmas including the flow control, wind power generation, and biomedicine. The discharge characteristics of the SDBD plasma and its influential factors are discussed in particular. It is shown that multi time and space scale diagnose and coupling model should be developed. The dynamics of the chemical reactions of the plasma, and the influence of the complex environment, such as flow rate, elevation, air pressure and humidity, should be discussed to reveal the meachnism and raise the control effect in different fields. © 2016, High Voltage Engineering Editorial Department of CEPRI.
