High-efficiency electromagnetic induction link in a wireless endoscope

The three-dimensional coil used in gastroenterology endoscope measures one component of the magnetic field to correct for the uncertain orientation of the capsule. The correction then improves the transmission efficiency in the wireless endoscope capsule. The characteristics of the rectifier input signal and the relationship between the rectifier output and position were analyzed to develop a composite rectifier. Experiments show that the composite rectifier overcomes the orientation limitation and reduces blind spots. The output is 41.4% higher than the output of a single receiving coil.
