Voice biometrics: Real-world issues and solutions

Dan Miller, a senior analyst and founder of Opus Research, the voice services specialist, and Ariel Friedenberg, executive vice president for global sales and business development with PerSay, the voice biometrics vendor, gave their views in a session called 'Integrating cost-effective biometrics into the modern IT security mix', at a conference. Miller believes that the biometrics industry is moving from simply using individual voice biometrics technologies to developing complete biometric-enabled solutions. He said that customers are picking and choosing the biometric solutions they want, rather than being offered a simple set of biometric products. Friedenberg said that more and more financial institutions and other service providers are adopting voice biometrics as an essential element in their security and risk management procedures.
