The slowdown in the U.S. energy-trading market after the fall of Enron was discussed. Enron was the seventh-largest corporation in the U.S. and the largest energy trader in the world. To improve their financial position, some trading companies began selling assets. Regulatory agencies tightened their controls over energy-trading practices.
