Increasing costs are forcing rubber processors from industrial nations to improve productivity constantly. Most avenues to improve productivity have been exhausted, one still remains which has not been utilised fully and that is automation. Automation lends itself mainly to the higher volume part. This concept can increase productivity along with well trained personnel. Part quality will increase in the future, automation can deliver constant cycle times which enables integrated quality control.
